On March 21, Ambassador Li Jiming was invited to attend the inauguration of the Bangladesh-China joint venture project-Payra 1320MW Thermal Power Plant, the largest power plant in Bangladesh. Hon’ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the Power Plant, Mr. Nasrul Hamid, Hon’ble State Minister, Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, Dr. Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury, BB, Honorable Adviser to the Prime Minister Power, Energy & Mineral Resources Affairs, and Mr. Md. Habibur Rahman, Secretary, Power Division, Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources delivered speeches. More than 100 key officials of the Bangladeshi government were present. At the ceremony, Prime Minister Hasina declared that Bangladesh achieved the target to bring the entire population under electricity coverage.
