On May 6, 2023, H.E. Mr. Yao Wen, Ambassador of China to Bangladesh, attended the Cosmos Dialogue Ambassadors’ Lectures Series upon invitation, and delivered a keynote speech entitled From a Long Way We Came, To a Brighter Future We will Go.

Ambassador Yao said in his speech that the China-Bangladesh relations is based on the cornerstones of close historical relations, comparable national conditions, like minds in governance and well-connected national dreams. The older generations of our country leaders forged the China-Bangladesh friendship, and the incumbent leaders have provided strong political guidance thereto. Cooperation between China and Bangladesh truly benefits the two peoples, and the two countries have always firmly supported each other on issues of core interests.

Ambassador Yao pointed out that the Chinese modernization is committed to peaceful development. Taiwan is an inalienable part of the Chinese territory, and any action to challenge the one-China principle will be resolutely frustrated.

Ambassador Yao expected that, in the future, China and Bangladesh should continue firmly supporting each other to follow a development path that suits their respective national conditions, deepen the Strategic Partnership of Cooperation and explore new growth points, thereby make China-Bangladesh relations a model of friendship among developing countries.
