Visa Application

Since March 15, 2023, the Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh has updated the visa application requirements for foreigners traveling to mainland Chinaas follows:
I. Application Procedures
1. Fill in the Visa Application Form online
All applicants are required to visit https://cova.cs.mfa.gov.cn (China Online Visa Application, COVA) to fill in the application form online, which should be printed out together with the confirmation page.
2. Online appointment
Please visit https://avas.cs.mfa.gov.cn (Appointment for Visa Application Submission, AVAS) to choose a time slot and print out the appointment confirmation page (AVAS Confirmation with barcode).
Diplomatic and official passport holders only submit visa application to the Embassy (no need for appointment).
3. Submission: Documents shall be submitted to the Embassy in full andat the appointment time.
4. Office hours : 9:00am-12:30pm Sunday to Thursday (except holidays).
II. Fingerprints Collection
All applicants holding ordinary passports will be requested to have their fingerprints collected.The following applicants can be exempted from fingerprints collection:
1. Applicants under the age of 14 or over 70;
2.Diplomatic passport holders, or applicants eligible for diplomatic, official and courtesy visas;
3. Applicants who already had their fingerprints collected within the past five years at the Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh with the same passport;
4.Applicants who suffer from 10 fingers mutilation or whose fingerprints cannot be collected.
The Chinese Embassy kindly request that applicants shall have their fingerprints collected in person. Those forge fingerprints or use other people's fingerprints will be denied entry into China and bear all the consequences incurred.
III. Required Documents
1. Basic documents
(1) Online Visa Application Form.
(2) Confirmation of Online Visa Application.
(3)Appointment confirmation page (AVAS Confirmation page with barcode).
(4) The original passport and a copy of the passport information page of the applicant with a validity period of more than 6 months and blank visa pages.
(5) One photo – The ID photo should be recent (within 6 months), front view, white background, in 48mm x 33mm size without head covering.
(6) Copy of valid visa (for non-Bangladeshi applicants).

IV. Exemptions of Visa for China
1. According to the bilateral agreements between China and foreign countries, citizens of some countries who meet requirements set out in the bilateral agreements may enter China without a visa.
2. Holding a valid Permanent Residence Card for Aliens of the People's Republic of China.
3. Holding a valid Residence Permit for Foreigner in the People's Republic of China issued by the Public Security organs in China.
4. Holding a valid APEC Business Travel Card.
5. Holding a valid visa previously issued.
V. Payment
Applicants shall pay the visa fees with a bank card. Cash payment is not accepted. Currently following bank cards are accepted by the Embassy: VISA, Master, China Union Pay and Diner Club /Discovery International Cards.
