Updates on Visa Application Requirements (Updated: October 19, 2023)

STEP 1: Preparing Documents as Required

1. Passport. Original passport with at least six months of validity and blank visa pages.

2. ID Photo. A recent and color ID photo, facing forward and with white color background, and bareheaded, in 48mm x 33mm size.

3. Proof of legal stay or residence status (applicable to those applying for Chinese visa who are not in their country of citizenship). For non-Bangladeshi passport holders, when you apply for Chinese visa in Bangladesh, you must provide the certificate of your immigration status in Bangladesh, such as citizen endorsement, residence, work permit or student visa, etc.

STEP 2: Complete China Online Visa Application Form

Please log in to China Online Visa Application website, and make the application online. All applicants are required to complete the online application form, (including diplomats, government officials, but excluding those applying for visas to Hong Kong SAR of China and Macao SAR of China), and wait for preliminary check.

STEP 3: Appointment for Video Interview (if required) and Visa Submission

1. Check the assessing result of your application: Applicant can find the assessing result in “Track My Application” once submitting the application.

(1) If the status showing “Passport to be submitted”, then applicants can submit documents at the Embassy on working day 9:00am-12:30pm.

(2) Video interview is needed for some kinds of visa. After the interview was approved, the status showing “Passport to be submitted”, then applicants can submit documents at the Embassy on working day 9:00am-12:30pm.

2. When submitting documents at the Embassy, please bring the following documents.

(1) Original passport.

(2) Visa Application Form of the People's Republic of China.

(3) ID Photo. A recent and color ID photo, facing forward and with white color background, and bareheaded, in 48mm x 33mm size.

(4) Original or photocopy of supporting documents (only if specifically requested, please check the China Online Visa Application website).

3. All applicants holding ordinary passports will be requested to have their fingerprints collected. The following applicants can be exempted from fingerprints collection:

(1) Applicants under the age of 14 or over 70; 

(2) Diplomatic passport holders, or applicants eligible for diplomatic, official and courtesy visas; 

(3) Applicants who already had their fingerprints collected within the past five years at the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Bangladesh with the same passport;

(4) Applicants who suffer from 10 fingers mutilation or whose fingerprints cannot be collected;

(5) Applicants who apply for single and double entry business (M), tourism (L), family visit (Q2), transit (G), and crew (C) visas from August 9 to December 31, 2023.

*The Chinese Embassy kindly request that applicants shall have their fingerprints collected in person. Those forge fingerprints or use other people's fingerprints will be denied entry into China and bear all the consequences incurred.

STEP 4: Payment and Collection

1. Applicants will be given a pickup form when submitting documents in person at the Embassy. You must bring the pickup form for passport collection and make the payment for your visa application.

2. Applicants shall pay the visa fees with a bank card. Cash payment is not accepted. Currently following bank cards are accepted by the Embassy: VISA, MasterCard, China Union Pay and Diner Club /Discovery International Cards.
