1. Do I need visa before visiting Chinese Mainland?

Foreign citizens need visa to visit Chinese Mainland, except for the exemption of visa based on related agreements and regulations.

2. Can the Bangladesh diplomatic passport holders or official passport holders enter China with exemption of visa? How about the duration time?

Yes, Bangladesh diplomatic passport or official passport holders can enter China with exemption of visa within 30-days stay.

3. What's“visa exemption for resident permit holders”?

Foreigners who have entered China with D, J1, Q1, S1, X1, or Z visas and have obtained the residence permit through public security organs could stay in China, and enjoy multiple entries and exits without a separate visa during the validperiod of the residence permit.Those who hold a Certificate of Permanent Residence of Aliens may stay in China, and enjoy multiple entries and exits without a separate visa.

4. I have obtained the Chinese Visa, but my travel plan has changed due to some reasons, can I request to renew or extend my visa? 

No. Once the visa is issued, it cannot be changed or extended, nor can the fees be refunded. It is suggested that the applicants should purchase air tickets after obtaining the visa. Any possible relevant loss occurred will be borne by the applicants.

5. If I have a valid Chinese visa, can I definitely enter China?  

Not necessarily. Obtainingvisa does not mean that you canenter China definitely. The Chinese border inspection authorities will make a decision at the port on whether to allow you to enter China in accordance with Chinese laws and regulations. According to Chapter III Section 2 of Regulations of Exit and Entry Administration Law of the People's Republic of China: “ Exit/entry border inspection authorities are not required to give reasons for denying an entry”.

6. Can I go to Embassy to apply for visa directly without applying online and making an appointment in advance?

All applicants are required to fill in the visa application formonline, please visit https://consular.mfa.gov.cn/VISA/

Check the assessing result of your application: Applicant can find the assessing result in “Track My Application” once submitting the application. If the status showing“Passport to be submitted”, then applicants can submit documents at the Embassy on working day 9:00am-12:30pm.

7. Do I need to submit documents to the Embassy by myself? Can I authorize others to submit it?

All applicants holding ordinary passports will be requested to have their fingerprints collected.

The following applicants can be exempted from fingerprints collection:

(1) Applicants under the age of 14 or over 70; 

(2) Diplomatic passport holders, or applicants eligible for diplomatic, official and courtesy visas;

(3) Applicants who already hadtheir fingerprints collected within the past five years at the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Bangladesh with the same passport;

(4) Applicants who suffer from 10 fingers mutilation or whose fingerprints cannot be collected;

(5) Applicants who apply for single and double entry business (M), tourism (L), family visit (Q2), transit (G), and crew (C) visas from August 9 to December 31, 2023.

8. Why is the type of visa I got different from my application?  

The Embassy decides on a case-by-case basis about whether or not to issue a visa, as well as the category, validity, duration of stay and number of entries.

9. What kind of information does Chinese visa include?

Visa validity("Enter before") means that the visa is valid,or can be used for entering China from the “issuedate”to the "enter before" date indicated on the visa (Beijing Time). If a visa has unused entries, the holder can enter China before 24:00 (Beijing Time) on the expiration date. A visa becomes invalid if all the entries are used up or if the visa has expired even though there are entries unused.

"Duration of each stay" refers to the maximum days the holder is permitted to stay in China on each visit, which is calculated from the next day of your entry into China.

"Entries" refers to the number of times the visa holder is permitted to enter China during the validity of visa. A visa becomes invalid if there is no entry left, or if there are entries left but the visa expires.

*Holders of D, J1, Q1, S1, X1, Z Visa shall, within 30 days from the date of entry, apply for residence permitthrough the exit/entry administrations of public security organs.  

Overstaying in China violates Chinese laws and regulations. The perpetrator is subjected to fines and other penalties. Please check the duration of each stay and make sure not overstay. 

10. How long should I apply for visa ahead of my trip?

It is advised to submit a visa application about one month before the planned entry into China.

11. How long does it take to finish my visa application?

If you have submitted passports at the Embassy, usually it'll take 4 working days (it varies case by case). If you have a special or emergency situation, you may request express (3 working day)with an additional fee.

12. I'm in Chinanow , but my visa will expire soon. Can I deliver my passport to my friend in Bangladesh and apply for a new Chinese visa from the Embassy?

No. You should leave China before the expiry of the visa or apply through the local Exit and Entry Administration for extension of stay in China.

13. How can I apply a tourist visa?

According to Chinese regulations, Bangladesh citizens can apply tourist visa with invitation letter issued by any eligible travel agency in China, together with other documents (These include hotel reservation with complete payment, travel itinerary, round trip air tickets and bank statement. The bank statement should prove that the applicant has at least 100 USD each day during his/her stay in China.)The Bangladesh local travel agencies can cooperate with their Chinese counterparts in this field.

14. Does the Embassy have designated travel agency in Bangladesh?

No. The Embassy never designates or authorizes any institutions or individuals to be Embassy’s agent for Chinese visa issue.
