On 6-11 June, 2014, Honorable Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina, paid an official visit to China at the invitation of her counterpart H.E. Mr. Li Keqiang, Premier of State Council of China and received a warm welcome from Chinese leadership.

During her visit, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina met with President Xi Jinping, held talks with Premier Li Keqiang and met with Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Yu Zhengsheng as well. The leaders from two countries appreciated the traditional friendship between China and Bangladesh and agreed to deepen cooperation in areas such as economy, trade, infrastructure construction, agriculture, science and technology, ocean, telecommunications and people-to-people and cultural exchanges as well as international affairs and climate change issues, and to jointly promote regional cooperation, including the building of the BCIM Economic Corridor. The two sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepen the Closer Comprehensive Partnership of Cooperation.

Chinese Premier and Bangladesh Prime Minister together witnessed the signing of six documents for cooperation (two agreements, two MoUs and two letters of exchange) in bilateral economy, technology, energy, infrastructure construction and other areas. And the two Governments issued "Joint Statement on Deepening the Closer Comprehensive Partnership of Cooperation between Bangladesh and China".

The year of 2015 will be the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relationship between the two nations, China is ready to take this opportunity to enhance political mutual trust, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, intensify bilateral exchanges in various fields, and constantly push forward China-Bangladesh comprehensive cooperative partnership.
