"China Tourism Day" Promotion Event Successfully Held at Bangladesh National Museum

On May 19, 2024, the "China Tourism Day" promotion event, co-organized by the the Embassy of People’s Republic of China in Bangladesh, the Bangladesh National Museum, and the Association of Travel Agents of Bangladesh, was successfully held at the Bangladesh National Museum. Mr. Li Shaopeng, Cultural Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh,Mr. Md. Kamruzzaman, Director General of the Bangladesh National Museum,and Mr. Abdus Salam Aref, President of the Association of Travel Agents of Bangladesh attended the event.Over 200 representatives from the Bangladesh Tourism Board, major travel agencies, think tanks, cultural institutions, Chinese and Bangladeshi media, Chinese airlines, and Confucius Institutes (classrooms) in Bangladesh participated in the event.

Mr. Li Shaopeng highlighted that China has rich tourism resources and magnificent cultural heritages. The China Embassy warmly invite more Bangladeshi tourists to visit destinations across China, such as Beijing and Yunnan, to fully experience the country and enjoy a happy life. The Chinese government places great importance on the inbound tourism experience of foreign visitors and has been committed to enhancing the convenience of their travel to China. China is eager to enhance tourism and cultural exchanges and cooperation with Bangladesh, aiming to promote high-quality development of the tourism industries in both nations for the benefit of the people.

Mr. Md. Kamruzzamansaid that both China and Bangladesh are influential ancient civilizations with rich historical and cultural heritage. We hope that through this event, the people of Bangladesh will gain a deeper understanding of the beauty of Chinese culture and tourism. This event will further promote the exchange of people and the development of friendly relations between Bangladesh and China.

Mr. Abdus Salam Arefsaid that we hope that the tourism authorities of China and Bangladesh will collaborate more closely to jointly promote both inbound and outbound tourism. This cooperation will help elevate the friendship between our two countries to even greater heights.

The theme of the "China Tourism Day" is "Explore China, Embrace Happiness." Through tourism promotions, flight route introductions, and displays of scenic images from Beijing and Yunnan, aiming to showcase China's diverse tourism resources and the latest measures to facilitate inbound travel to Bangladeshi travel agents and the public. This event seeks to promote tourism cooperation and people-to-people exchanges between China and Bangladesh. The event was well-attended by guests, creating a lively and enthusiastic atmosphere.

In 2011, the State Council of China approved May 19th as "China Tourism Day" each year. The "China Tourism Day" photo exhibition will run until May 21st.
