A letter of sympathy from Hon'ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to Chinese President Xi Jinping over the conoravirus outbreak was received by H.E. Mr. Li Jiming, Ambassador of China to Bangladesh, at a hand-over ceremony hosted by Foreign Minister Dr. A. K. Abdul Momen on 16th February, 2020.
In the letter, HPM Sheikh Hasina expressed her sympathy and support for the Chinese government and people. Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Momen highly commended China's efforts in combating the epidemic, and expressed Bangladesh's gratitude over the support and cooperation offered by the Chinese side in responding to Bangladesh's concerns.
Ambassador Li thanked the Bangladesh government and people for having strong faith in China, and announced that the Chinese side will soon provide 500 most advanced test kits to help Bangladesh enhance its capacity to detect coronavirus infection.
